Sisaundra Lewis

Sisaundra Lewis (born October 8, 1970) is an American singer-songwriter and producer from Lake Hamilton, Florida who finished in the top 8 on season 6 of the Voice USA, mentored by Blake Shelton.

BackgroundEdit

Born and raised in Lake Hamilton, Florida, Sisaundra, who is one of eight children, grew up singing in church. She has also worked as a backup singer and vocal coach to superstar Celine Dion.

Sisaundra had been out of the music industry for 10 years when she finally decided to give music another try by trying out for the show.

The VoiceEdit

Sisaundra tried out for the show and showed that she was a force to be reckoned with right away with her take on the Aretha Franklin song "Ain't No Way". All four coaches, blown away by her powerful voice, turned around for her. She chose Blake Shelton as her mentor.

Battle RoundsEdit

In this part of the competition, Sisaundra went up against pop singer Paula DeAndra on the song "Do What You Want" by Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera. Sisaundra simply overpowered Paula on the song, which made Blake Shelton's decison to choose her to move forward very easy.

Battle Rounds part 2Edit

For this part, Sisaundra went up against Biff Gore, whom Blake Shelton had stolen from Usher in the first Battle Rounds, on the song "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" by the great James Brown. Both singers gave it their all on the song, making Blake Shelton's decision a hard one. He ended up choosing Sisaundra to move forward to the playoffs.

PlayoffsEdit

Sisaundra took on the Billy Joel classic "New York State of Mind" for this part of the competition and just blew everyone away with her take on it. Blake Shelton easily chose her to move forward to the live shows.

Live showsEdit

For the first live show, Sisaundra took on the Elton John classic "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me". She put everything she had into the song, resulting in her coach Blake Shelton giving her a standing ovation as well as one from Usher. She made it to the top 10.

For the second live show, Sisaundra sang "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry, which confused some fans on social media. However, she blew everyone away with her strong performance. She made it to the top 8.

For the third live show, Sisaundra took on the Tina Turner classic "River Deep, Mountain High", a song that has been covered on various shows such as American Idol and Glee. Sisaundra sang the hell out of the song, blowing everyone away. However, it ended up being her last performance as she, along with Delvin Choice of Team Adam and fellow Team Blake member Audra McLaughlin, was eliminated on May 6, 2014.
