Juliet Simms

Juliet Nicole Simms (born February 26, 1986) is a rock singer-songwriter from San Francisco, California who finished as the runner-up on season 2 of The Voice USA, mentored by Cee Lo Green.

Before trying out for the show, Simms was the lead singer of the band Automatic Loveletter, who had their songs played on shows such as MTV's The Real World. Automatic Loveletter was even a part of the Vans Warped Tour, which also included the band Hey Monday whose lead singer, Cassadee Pope, would later win season 3 of The Voice USA.

The Voice USAEdit

Simms wowed the coaches at her blind audition with her take on the Beatles' hit "Oh Darling", which had Adam Levine standing up and singing along with her. Out of the three coaches(Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green) who turned around for her, Simms chose Green as her mentor.

Simms continued to impress throughout the competition with her gritty, rock-style voice and taking on songs like the Police classic "Roxanne", which hit number 1 on the iTunes Rock chart and even charted at #86 on the Billboard Hot 100. Another song she covered while on the show, "It's A Man, Man, Man's World" by the great James Brown, also charted on the Billbord Hot 100 at #70. Simms was considered by many to be a frontrunner to win but finished second to Jermaine Paul on May 8, 2012.

Post The VoiceEdit

Simms is currently at work on her first solo album, which is expected to be released in 2013. Her debut solo single, "Wild Child", was released on December 11, 2012. Simms performed the song on the show on December 12, 2012. She even went on tour with the band Secondhand Serenade from March 16 to April 9, 2013. She later performed a couple of songs, including "Wild Child", at Yahoo! Music. In her interview with Lyndsey Parker, Simms announced that she was signed to Republic Records. She also owns a bracelet company called "Never Take it Off".

Leaving Republic Records and new EPEdit

Even though an album was planned for a 2013 release, it never came out because Simms had been dropped by Republic Records. Her debut EP, All or Nothing, was released on January 27, 2015 via a fundraising campaign with PledgeMusic. Her second EP, From The Grave, will be released on July 15, 2016.

Personal LifeEdit

In a July 2013 interview, Simms admitted to being in a two-year relationship with Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack, whom she later married on April 16, 2016. She has her nickname for him, "White Rabbit", tattooed on her right hand.
