EG Daily

EG Daily (born Elizabeth Ann Guttman on September 11, 1961) is an American singer, actress, and voice actress who was a contestant on season 5 of the Voice USA, mentored by Blake Shelton. She was eliminated in the Knockout Rounds on October 29, 2013.


Daily first gained notice when she portrayed Dottie in the 1985 film Pee-wee's Big Adventure. She has also worked as a voice actress, providing the voices of such cartoon characters as Tommy Pickles in Rugrats and Buttercup in The Powerpuff Girls.

In addition to her acting career, Daily has released four albums between 1985 and 2008. She has also done stand-up comedy.

Personal LifeEdit

Daily has two daughters, Hunter and Tyson, with former husband Rick Soloman, whom she was married to from 1995 to 2000.

The Voice USAEdit

Daily decided to try out for the Voice where she wowed the judges with her version of the Faith HIll hit "Breathe", resulting in two judges- Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green- to turn around for her. When fellow judge Christina Aguilera asked Daily if she had been an actress, Daily mentioned Pee-wee's Big Adventure, causing Aguilera to become starstruck. In the end, Daily chose Shelton to be her mentor.

Battle RoundsEdit

In this part of the competition, Daily went up against singer Sam Cerniglia. Both took on the Bonnie Raitt song "Something to Talk About". Dailys performance of it impressed Blake Shelton enough to put her through to the Knockout Rounds.

Knockout RoundsEdit

Daily took on the Bonnie Raitt song "I Can't Make You Love Me". However, her opponent, Ray Boudreaux, did better with his version of the Black Crowes hit "Hard to Handle". He moved on in the competition while Daily was eliminated.
