Dawn and Hawkes

Dawn and Hawkes are an American indie folk duo from Austin, Texas who are currently contestants on season 6 of the Voice USA, mentored by Adam Levine. They were eliminated in the second part of the Battle Rounds on April 7, 2014.

The duo consists of Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes.

Chris and Miranda met in 2010 at a bar in Austin and found out that they had a lot in common musicially as well as personally. The couple started dating, and Chris even helped Miranda write songs for her debut album, Reason to Feel Alive, which he also produced, in 2011. The couple made their musical debut as Dawn and Hawkes with the release of their debut EP, Golden Heart, in 2012.

The couple were playing gigs in and around the Austin area when they decided to try out for The Voice.

The VoiceEdit

Chris and Miranda tried out for the show with their take on "I've Just Seen a Face" by the Beatles. Two coaches- Adam Levine, who is a longtime Beatles fan, and Shakira- turned around for them. Adam even called their performance the best he has ever heard on the show. After consulting with each other, Chris and Miranda chose Adam as their mentor.

Battle RoundsEdit

In this part of the competition, Chris and Miranda went up against singer Josh Murley on the Stealers Wheel classic "Stuck in the Middle with You". Even though both did well, Adam Levine choose Chris and Miranda to move forward to the second part of Battles while Shakira used one of her two steals on Josh.

Battle rounds part 2Edit

For this part, Chris and Miranda went up against rock singer Kat Perkins on the K.T. Tunstall song "Suddenly I See". Despite giving it their all, Adam Levine chose Kat to move forward, resulting in Chris and Miranda being eliminated.
