Christina Maria Aguilera (born December 18, 1980) is a Grammy-winning American singer and actress who first gained notice in 1990 as a contestant on Star Search and later went on to appear on the Disney Channel series The Mickey Mouse Club from 1993-1994 along with other future stars such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling. She signed a deal with RCA Records in 1998 and has gone on to score multiple hit singles such as "Genie in A Bottle", "Beautiful", "Lady Marmalade" and "Ain't No Other Man". Aguilera is known for her powerful soprano-style voice and has been called the voice of her generation as well as a blue eyed soul singer.
After three seasons, Aguilera took season 4 of The Voice off in order to focus on her music career. She, along with Cee Lo Green, returned for season 5. She took season 7 off due to the birth of her daughter Summer. She did return for season 8 as well as season 10, where she mentored that season's winner, Alisan Porter.
Aguilera has a son, Max, from her marriage to record executive Jordan Bratman, which ended in divorce in 2011. She announced her engagement to film producer and musician Matt Rutler, whom she has dated since late 2010. The couple's first child, daughter Summer Rain, was born on August 17, 2014.
