Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Daly began his career when he interned for comedian Jimmy Kimmel when he was 18. He then began working as a DJ for radio station KOME in San Jose and later KROQ in Los Angeles. It was while he was at KROQ that he was discovered by MTV.
Total Request Live
After starting out hosting an MTV summer show called "Motel California", Daly was hired as a permanent VJ and moved to New York where he hosted Total Request Live from 1998-2002. The show became the go-to place for celebrity interviews and for stars to debut their new music videos.
Daly left TRL in 2002 where he focused his attention on a new late night talk show, Last Call with Carson Daly, on NBC as well as other projects.
The VoiceIn 2011, Daly became the host of the Voice USA where he later became one of the show's executive producers. He is most often seen with the contestants' families supporting them during the Blind Auditions as well as keeping things running smoothly between the coaches especially when coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton start teasing each other. While he has been criticized by some for lacking enthusiasm due to his calm personality, Daly has been praised for doing a great job despite all the craziness that goes on with the show.
On December 23, 2015, Daly married his longtime girlfriend, Siri Pinter. The couple have three children.
