Bryana Salaz

Bryana Alicia Salaz
(born August 25, 1997) is an American pop singer-songwriter and actress from Orlando, Florida who competed on season 7 of the Voice USA, finishing in the top 20. Her mentor was Gwen Stefani.

Born in Orlando, Florida, Bryana grew up in a military family, moving every two to three years. Bryana had been interested in soccer, playing since she was a kid, until her mother entered her in a military music competition when she was 12. She continued with music after that, continuing to improve after her family settled in Atlanta, Georgia. She also tried out for America's Got Talent in 2011 and made the Vegas Rounds.

The VoiceEdit

Bryana tried out for the Voice by singing the Ariana Grande hit "Problem". Three coaches (Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani) turned around for her. She chose Gwen as her coach.

After progressing through the Battle Rounds and Knockout Rounds, Bryana was considered by many to be a contender for Team Gwen. After performing the 5 Seconds of Summer song "Amnesia", which had been highly praised by all four coaches, Bryana found herself in the bottom along with her teammate Ryan Still. She ended up eliminated while Still stayed in the competition. Her elimination caused an outrage because many believed that she and Taylor Phelan deserved to be in the top 12 instead of him.
